Describes methods of measurement for the determination of the dimensions of all types of domestic matresses, bed frames and bed bases intended for adult size. However, it does not apply to air beds and water beds nor to mattress pads that are placed on top of the main support mattress. It also includes recommended tolerances on any nominal dimension in order to ensure the correct fit between the bed components. However, specific requirements apply to the dimensions of bed based for trunkbeds and single beds for use at a height of the upper face of the bed base of 800 mm and more above floor level.
