These rules define the checks and tests suitable for verifying the operating characteristics of pantographs of electric rolling stock. They apply to pantographs used on rollingstock supplied from a.d.c. or single overhead contact system with a nominal voltage of 600 V and above. These rules in so far as they are applicable are also valid for trolley-buses.
