scope:
This standard describes the calculation of the free ammonia content of water. It applies to surface water. To perform this calculation the ammonium nitrogen content (NEN 3235 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 or NEN 6477), the pH (NEN 6411), the temperature and the ionic strength have to be known. Free ammonia is poisonous for fish.
