Guides for procurement - Turbines auxiliairies - Cranes

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 April 1995
Status: inactive
Page Count: 36
ICS Code (Power stations in general): 27.100
ICS Code (Gas and steam turbines. Steam engines): 27.040
scope:

Gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of, in principle, any lifting equipment used in a power-generating plant (outside the nuclear island of nuclear power plants). It primarily addresses the cranes important for the availability of the plant. Cranes and lifting equipment used in power-generating plants are generally: - travelling cranes, - portal or semi-portal bridge cranes, - fixed or articulated jigs, - hoist monorails, - mobile cranes. Obviously, for small-sized fitting equipment, the purchaser should only apply this guide with caution and limit its requirements. In this case, this guide notably allows the use of "standardized" equipment. The purchaser then benefits from the advantages of series production, reduced procurement times, wider ranging experience and lower costs. Some of the provisions may be applicable to steam generating plant for other applications. This standard is applicable to the actions of both purchasers and suppliers and indicates to potential purchaser how requirements should be stated so that: a) predicted performance is achieved; b) ancillary equipment is properly sized; c) reliability, availability and safety requirements are achieved; d) proper consideration is given to the evaluation process and the quality measures to be applied.
