scope:
The standard applies to all types of chairs used in office spaces. The NPR 1813 explains which type of office chair can be applied for which purpose. The standard does not apply to chairs intended for special activities (e.g. for work at service counters, (office) windows and machinery, that is performed in a standing position) nor to armchairs, tabourets, and other chairs, that not belong to one of the above-mentioned categories.
