scope:

This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of switchgear and controlgear within installations primarily concerned with the generation of electrical power and, where appropriate, their interconnection with the transmission and/or distribution system. It also includes for main connections (busbars) associated with generators circuits and for the ancillary plant forming part of switchboards and/or switching circuits. The object o this guide is to make an intending Purchaser aware of options and alternatives which he may wish to consider, and to enable him to state his requirements in a comprehensive manner to potential Suppliers with the object of achieving an integrated power installation, ensuring compatibility with contracts for other plant items and fully meeting the requirements of European legislation designed to promote the Single Market.
