scope:

This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of sootblower equipment associated with steam generating plant in the electrical power supply industry. This includes mechanical (steam or air) and acoustic sootblowers for the following applications: Furnace wall sootblowers and water lances; Long retractable and semi-retractable sootblowers; Economizer sootblowers including rake sootblowers; Airheater sootblowers. Some of the provisions may be applicable to steam generating plant for other applications.
