This International Standard specifies data fields to be used in title blocks of technical product documents. The standard facilitates the exchange of documents and esures compatibility by defining field names, their contents and lenghts. The rules apply to manual as well as computer-based design work. This standard applies to all kinds of documents for all kinds of documents for all kind of products, in all phases of a product life cycle, and in all fields of engineering. The standard contains document management relevant data fields, but does not contain fields for specific technology areas or product requirements. The standard supports cross-use and re-use of documents.
