This standard specifies a method of measurement of the noise at the position of the operator(s) of a tractor or machine used in agriculture and forestry. The results may be useful when considering the risk of damage to the operator's hearing. In the case of a tractor, the noise measured relates only to the basic machine. The machines to which this standard applies are self-propelled, pedestrian controlled machines being included. The measurements described in this standard might be undertaken as a part of a type test.
