This standard sets out the safety requirements for electric passenger lifts and passenger-carrying goods lifts. The conditions these lifts must satisfy to quality as fire-brigade lifts are also set out. This standard applies to passenger-carrying electric lifts, the cage(s) of which must be stopped before entering or alighting or before loading or unloading.
