scope:
This standard specifies a method to determine the suction time of sludge in vacuum filtration. See also NEN 6685. The standard applies to any kind of sludge, except if implementation of the test is not possible as a result of practical drawbacks, such as foam formation or an extremely high degree of dry material in the undissolved components. The determination of the suction time is used as a quick and simple method to characterize the dewaterability speed of sludge.
