scope:
Deals with the safety of electric ironers for household use, in shops and light industry. Examples are rotary ironers, ironing presses, trouser presses and mangles.
This standard however, in general, does not take into account the use of appliances by
- persons (including children) whose
* physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or
* lack of experience and knowledge
prevent them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;
- children playing with the appliance.
