This standard gives guidance on writing the technical specification for the procurement of natural draught and mechanical draught dry cooling towers and cooling tower internals associated with steam generating plant in the electrical power supply industry. Depending upon the type of cooling tower this may include; - water distribution system - Fin tube heat exchanger - Supporting frame and footbridges - Circulating pumping set with expanding vessel - Winter operating equipment (louvres or shutters) - Fan and fan facilities - Noise attenuating facilities - Pipework and valves. The scope excludes: - Conderser - Main cooling water pumps and associated auxiliaries - Chemical and mechanical water treatment - Civil work.
