NEN-EN 50100-2

Safety of machinery - Electro-sensitive protective devices - Part 2: Particular requirements for systems using active opto-electronic devices

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 July 1994
Status: inactive
Page Count: 67
ICS Code (Electrical accessories in general): 29.120.01
ICS Code (Safety of machinery): 13.110
scope:

This part of EN 50100 specifies requirements and methods of verification for an electrosensitive protective equipment (ESPE) employing active opto-electronic protectice devices (AOPDs) for the sensing function. This standard does not specify the dimensions or configurations of the detection zone nor its disposition in relation to dangerous parts for any particular application. Excluded from this part of the standard are those sensing devices that employ radiation of wavelengths outside the range 400 nm to 1500 nm and that employ radiation other than that generated by the OAPD. An opto-electronic proximity switch relying on the return of its own radiation from the detected object is not covered by this Part of the standard.
