This standard specifies the external dimensions for general purpose all-or-nothing electrical relays within the scope of the IEC, and the location of their terminals and fixings in terms of preferred multiples of specified modules. It applies to all such relays regardless of their type of construction (e.g. electromechanical, electronic, reed, etc.) and includes the height of the socket when the relay is socket-mounted. This standard does not apply to relays standardized by the ISO (TC 20: Aircraft and space vehicles) or to the internal construction of relays or to the size of fixing arrangements and terminals. The object of this standard is to state for the external dimensions and location of terminals and fixings for general purpose all-or-nothing relays: - definitions; - basic module and recommended multipliers for: - socket-mounted relays; - relays for printed circuit board; - other relays. All dimensions given in this standard are in millimetres. The external dimensions shall be given in integer multiples of the basic module.
