NEN 10601-2-1

Safety of medical electrical equipment - Part 2: Particular requirements for medical electron accelerators in the range 1 MeV tot 50 MeV - Section One: General - Section Two: Radiation safety for equipment

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 June 1983
Status: inactive
ICS Code (Radiation protection): 13.280
ICS Code (Radiographic equipment): 11.040.50
ICS Code (Medical equipment in general): 11.040.01
scope:

This Standard applies to medical electron accelerators when used for therapy purposes, in human medical practice. This Standard applies to accelerators which deliver a useful beam of either X-radiation of electron radiation, with energies in the range 1 MeV to 50 MeV, and at maximum absorbed dose* rates between 0.001 Gy.s-1 and 1 Gy.s-1 at 1 m from the radiation source and at normal treatment distances between 0.5 m and 2 m from the radiation source. For equipment in which the selection and display requirements are automatically controlled, these conditions shall be complied with or equivalent safety provisions shall be made.
