scope:
This standard applies to the dimensional coordination of technical components used to fit into the transportation chain - e.g. packages, unit loads, pallets, roll containers, containers, transport vehicles, loading and unloading equipment, storage facilities - particularly to horizontal dimensions. The standard specifies the area module and lays down the rules for deriving area multimodules and modular sub-multiples and for their use.
