scope:

Is applicable to circular connectors for use in electrical and electronic equipment and systems. It shall be used in conjunction with the basic specification, IEC 512: Electromechanical components for electronic equipment, basic testing procedures and measuring methods, and the relevant DS. The object of this Sectional Specification is to establish uniform specification, method and type test requirements for circular connectors and to establish rules for the preparation of DS. In the event of conflict between this Sectional Specification and the DS, the requirements of the DS shall prevail.
