This standard relates to the packaging of components with axial leads, in order to facilitate assembly or automatic insertion. It has been prepared in order to standardize the methods, general dimensions and preferred tolerances for the taping of the components for example, resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc., for use in telecommunication equipment and electronic devices employing similar essembly techniques. This standard deals only with the lead taping type packaging and does not indicate the dimensions of the components themselves.
