scope:
Specifies the safety requirements and prevention measures applicable to the straight flight stairways and stepladders such as defined in part 1 of this standard "Choice of a fixed means of access between two levels". This standard also gives requirements for the guard-rails, for stairways, stepladders, landings, working platforms, gangways and access area to machines and industrial plants. The standard is not applicable to areas to which the public may have access.
