This International Standard establishes a nomenclature in English and French of terms used in continuous handling, including basic terms and names of the principal appliances. The numbering of the terms is based on the classification established by the Fédération Europeénne de la Manutention (FEM), which gives the number 2 to continuous handling equipment. Lists of equivalent terms in other languages will be published later as annexes.
