This part of ISO 7240 specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for short-circuit isolators, for use in fire detection and alarm systems for buildings; see ISO 7240-1. Means of isolation or protection incorporated within control and indicating equipment in ISO 7240-1:2005, Figure 1, item B, are not covered by this part of ISO 7240.
