NEN-ISO 9855

Ambient air - Determination of the particulate lead content of aerosols collected on filters - Atomic absorption spectrometric method

active, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 September 1996
Status: active
Page Count: 14
ICS Code (Ambient atmospheres): 13.040.20
scope:

The principle of the method specified is based on digesting with acid the particulate material collected on a filter, solubilizing any lead present and analysing the sample solution by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The method is applicable to ambient air samples with particulate lead collected on the filter is greater than 1 g if flame AAS is used. Final determination by graphite furnace AAS allows measurement of quantities of less than 1 g, but is only applicable after experimental validation of detection limits.
