scope:

This standard deals with the information to be provided on the components and/or in their accompanying documents for an X-ray tube or an X-ray tube assembly when delivered to the purchaser or user as a component, an integral sub-assembly or a part of equipment for diagnostic radiology. The information is intended to enable the X-ray tube assembly to be installed, energized, used and maintained in a safe and proper manner. It is assumed, nevertheless, that the operator of an X-ray tube assembly is suitable skilled and has sufficient knowledge of radiation and other hazards, of methods of protection against ionizing radiation and of the manipulation of X-ray tubes in respect of loadability and other particularities.
