This standard applies to electroheating installations comprising industrial coreless (crucible) induction furnaces for melting and for holding at temperature a molten charge. The object of this publication is the standardization of test methods to determine the essential parameters and technical characteristics of electroheating installations comprising the furnaces indicated above. The list of test recommended in the present publication is not mandatory, and is not restrictive. Tests may be selected from the proposed list of test as required for the characterization and evaluation of a furnace. Additional test may be carried out, preferably in agreement between manufacturers and users of the furnaces concerned.
