scope:

Covers jointly with prEN 1009-1:1997 "General" all significant hazards pertinent to crushing and milling machinery for mechanical processing plants, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer. This standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards. This standard does not include hazards which exists for all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other machine components. They are dealt with A- and B- standards. This standard applies primarily to machines which are manufactured after the date of approval of the standard by CEN.
