scope:

Specifies the requirements and type testing which can be applied, for those aspects which are common to all such equipment, to shipborne radio equipment forming part of the global maritime distress and safety system, and electronic navigational aids required to be carried out on board ships and to toher navigational aids, where appropriate. Minimum performance standards and methods of testing and required test results are established for those general requirements which can be applied to all equipment described above.
