Specifies certain characteristics of the oil. Descriptions and ranges of permissible values are given of appearance, colour, odour, relative density at 20/20 °C, refractive index at 20 °C, optical rotation at 20 °C, miscibility with 80 % (V/V) ethanol at 20 °C, acid value, ester value, ester value after acetylation, flash point. Some characteristics differ in dependence of the country of origin (France, North Africa, Portugal, Spain). In an annex typical chromatograms for the principal origins are demonstrated.
