scope:

This International Standard specifies procedures and requirements for the transfer of bunkers to vessels involving bunker tankers, road tankers and shore pipelines. It applies to pre-delivery, delivery and post-delivery checks and documentation. This International Standard neither governs the legal rights of the parties involved nor supersedes applicable international conventions and/or local port legislation(s). Local and international regulations, such as International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulation: International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto (MARPOL), Annex VI: Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships (hereinafter MARPOL 73/78), apply to all parties involved in the transfer of bunkers.
