Specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its capability to consistently provide conforming product and/or service. The quality management system requirements are aimed primarily at achieving customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements through application of the system, the continual improvement of the system and the prevention of nonconformity. This standard applies to the activities of organizations from the identification of customer requirements, through all quality management system processes, to the achievement of customer satisfaction. The requirements specified in this standard are generic and applicable to all organizations regardless of type and size.
