Water quality - Determination of hydrocarbon oil index - Part 1: Method using solvent extraction and gravimetry

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 May 2000
Status: inactive
Page Count: 17
ICS Code (Examination of water for chemical substances): 13.060.50
scope:

Specifies a method for the determination of the hydrocarbon oil index in waters after extraction and gravimetry. The method may be applied to all types of water, applicable to concentrations above 5 mg/l. The method is suitable for the determination of high boiling hydrocarbon oils (boiling point >250 C) e.g. oil, lubricants). The mass concentration of animal and vegetable fat shall not supercede 150 mg/l because at higher values the absorption capacity of the florisil may be insufficient.
