Defines the test procedures to be used to determine the performance of software for the generation of bar code symbols by bar code printing (or other production) systems. It also applies to software for the production of other optically readable symbologies such as dot and matric codes. It covers only those aspects directly related to the bar code symbol and does not apply to other functions of the software. It describes in an informative annec desirable featers of software for the generation of bar code images intended for subsequent reproduction by conventional printing processes ("electronic filmless masters").
