This standard describes the reference method for the determination of the freezing point of milk with a mercury thermometer. This standard applies to checking whether water has been added to raw milk or heated milk which has been completely skimmed, semi-skimmed or not smikked at all. The milk may not be sour or spoilt otherwise.
