scope:

This standard gives guidance on the writing of the technical specification for the procurement of Boiler and High Pressure Piping Valves including Safety Valves. These valves are envisaged for systems covered by Guides for Procurement 2.1/2/3 for Boilers and 6.1 for Piping. This standard is applicable to the actions of both Purchasers and Suppliers and indicates to potential Purchasers how requirements should be stated. It is assumed that the intending Purchaser will issue Enquiry Documents including a Specification for the Scope of Supply. This Guide containes instructions and information to assist in the development of the Enquiry Documents: it cannot be used as a substitute for them. This Guide has been developed under the assumption that the Purchaser will procure the Project Power Plant piecemeal in multiple self contained contractsi.e. Boiler, Turbine, HP Pipework, C and I etc. If a Turnkey Project strategy is involved a number of articles of parts of articles will not be applicable.
