Is applicable to measuring relays and protection equipment as defined in the scope of EN 60255-6:1994. For equipment not incorporating electronic circuits e.g. electromechanical relays, emission and immunity tests are not required. Specifies the basic requirements for electromagnetic compatibility in order to comply with the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC. Other tests are covered in the EN 60255/IEC 255 serie standards. All tests in this standard are type tests and shall be carried out in a laboratory.
