NEN-EN 50630

Time-delayed residual current operated circuit breakers type M without over-current protection for application in circuits with rated currents greater above 32A

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NEN
Publication Date: 1 February 2014
Status: inactive
Page Count: 142
ICS Code (Fuses and other overcurrent protection devices): 29.120.50
scope:

This European Standard applies to Main Residual Current Protection devices operating with time Delay on residual current detection, not incorporating overcurrent protection (hereafter referred to as MRCP-D), for rated voltages not exceeding 440 V a.c. and rated currents from 40A and not exceeding 125 A for fixed installations. MRCP-DThese devices are intended to provide automatic disconnection of supply (fault protection) in case of a fault in the distribution circuit and in final circuits exceeding 32 A, according to HD 60364-4-41clause 411.3.2.3 and 411.3.2.4. They may be used to provide protection against fire hazards due to a persistent earth fault current, without the operation of the overcurrent protective device. They may provide selectivity against RCCBs of type S and general type MRCP-Ds are not intended to be used as means for additional protection in case of failure of the protective means against electric shock. This standard applies to devices performing simultaneously the functions of detection of the residual current, of comparison of the value of this current with the residual operating value and of opening of the protected circuit when the residual current exceeds this value. These devices are not intended to be used at the origin of the installation, e.g. upstream of the main distribution board NOTE 1 HD 60364 Clause
