This code of practice deals with a number of subjects explaining the examination of water for faecal streptococci in accordance with NEN 6562, NEN 6563, NEN 6564 and NEN 6565. When a quantative determination of the pressence of faecal streptococci in water is desired, membrane filtration is to be preferred. In the case of much suspended matter with respect to the number of faecal streptococci, fermentation tests are preferred.
