scope:
This standard describes the determination of the sludge volume index for active sludge from purification plants. It applies to mixtures of water and sludge and gives an impression of their settling properties. The sludge volume index to be established is influenced by temperature deviations (20° C), the nitrification effects and the measuring cylinder used.
