scope:
The principle of the method is bringing the petroleum sample and a hydrometer cylinder within a prescribed temperature range, transferring a test portion to the cylinder at approximately the same temperature, lowering the appropriate hydrometer into the test portion and allowing it to settle, reading the hydrometer scale after thermal equilibrium has been reached, noting the temperature of the test portion. Appies to products having a Reid vapour pressure of 180 kPa (1,8 bar) or less.
