The standards which are the subject of this HD are primarily those that have been produced in conformity wiht the Basic Reference Model for Open Systems Interconnection (ISO 7498:1984) and its CCITT counterpart, the Reference Model of Open Systems Interconnection for CCITT Applications (X.200). Limited use is also made of standards and recommendations from related fields which predate, or are outside the immediate scope of this Reference Model.
