BATTERY, NON-RECHARGEABLE, 9 VDC (LITHIUM)
|Publication Date:||18 April 2018|
This commercial item description (CID) covers the government acquisition requirements for a 9 VDC non-rechargeable lithium manganese dioxide battery with metal cell encasings, used to provide memory hold power for stationary communications systems and portable electronic, communication, and other military equipment. It is also used to power portable mulitmeters. The metal cell encasing serves to enhance performance in extreme environments.

This battery is a 9-volt lithium battery intended for use in environmental extremes (hot or cold, dry or damp) for any using end item that would normally work from a 9- volt alkaline battery, NSN 6135-00-900-2139. In most uses, it will provide approximately double the energy. It will also tolerate environmental extremes better than the 9-volt lithium battery with plastic cell encasings, NSN 6135-01-369-9792. Due to the metal cell encasings, this battery is slightly larger than the other two and may have problems fitting into some battery holders, particularly those that accommodate the more-rounded corners of the alkaline batteryView Less
