The purpose of this protocol is to provide a means to quantify the amount of recycled plastics used by a manufacturing plant in the production of plastic bottles. Numerical values generated through the use of this protocol can be used to document the recycled plastics content of bottles produced during a given period. The documentation of recycled plastics content in bottles may be desired as part of the bottle producer-customer relationship, or to meet future regulatory requirements.
