This Guidance applies to all London Underground Train Operators.

The response options should only be considered if the Train Operator is certain that an "Active Shooter" incident is actually taking place on board their train.

Purpose

The following guidance has been developed by Government, British Transport Police (BTP) and the UK rail industry to assist London Underground employees in responding to an "Active Shooter" incident. An "Active Shooter" incident is defined as an attack consisting of one or more people using firearms, with the intention of causing mass casualties.

Employee responsibilities

Train Operators should take note of the guidance and understand the response options available to them should an "Active Shooter" incident occur on a London Underground train.
