Applicability and Scope.
This instruction applies to Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N-codes and systems commands' commanders who provide support to the Coast Guard.
Purpose
a. To issue the U.S. Navy's policy on support of specific equipment and systems provided to and in use by the U.S. Coast Guard, and to assign responsibility for carrying out this policy. This is a complete revision and should be read in its entirety.
b. This revision adds responsibilities for Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Information Warfare (CNO N2N6); Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Fleet Readiness and Logistics (CNO N4); Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Operations, Plans & Strategy (CNO N3/N5); and Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Director, Surface Warfare Division (OPNAV N96).
