active, Most Current
Organization: DS
Publication Date: 20 November 2003
Status: active
ICS Code (Research and development): 03.100.40
scope:

This publication describes the general principles of the IRP Method. The IRP Method is a process-based method for project management as a corporate business competence. Unlike traditional approaches to project management, the IRP Method focuses on the company rather than the individual project manager. Furthermore, the method emphasizes the processes before and after the actual project that are often ignored. The IRP Method is a general method that is not limited to a specific type of projects or a certain line of business. The method is adapted to the individual needs of each company/organisation. Also, the method is used by the Danish Standards Association for the certification of project management at company level. This publication gives a general introduction to the IRP Method and treats of the following specific topics: Documentation of project method and projects, portfolio management, project definition and assessment, planning and estimating, resource management, cost management, reporting and control, contract management, change management, risk management, quality assurance, customer relations, stakeholders and communication as well as project organisation. Also, the publication provides guidelines for implementing the IRP Method. This publication is part of a series of 5 publications.
