This part of the CWA is the specification of the FINREAD client API Version 2.1. The document has two main objectives. It should enable a developer of the PC side of the FINREAD financial application to develop the ICC aware FINREAD application that can send commands to the FCRA and communicate through it with an ICC inserted into the FINREAD card reader. It gives to a FINREAD card reader manufacturer sufficient information to implement the interface specified in this document. This part of the CWA : . Gives an overview of the management of the FCRs and FCRAs from the client application; . Is the "C" style API specification. In the annex B, this document describes the mechanism to operate the FINREAD API based on COM1 technology within PC/SC environment.
