scope:
- This specification covers LS-518()/SIC and LS-519()/SIC intercommunication stations for use in Naval shipboard announcing systems.
- The intercommunication stations shall be of the following types as specified (see 6.2). The type designation for the Intercommunication stations contains parentheses which are to be replaced by a letter indicating a particular make or model that differs from previous production. Nomenclature shall be requested as required by MIL-E-21981.
- Type LS-518()/SIC station shall be suitable for installation in protected locations and shall be capable of selecting 10 other stations in any combination of at least 2 stations regardless of type.
- Type LS-519()/SIC station shall be suitable for installation in protected locations and shall be capable of selecting 20 other stations in any combination of at least 2 stations regardless of type.
intended Use:
- The equipment covered by this specification is intended for intercommunication aboard Naval ships by means of voice amplification and station selection.
