Purpose of This Notice.

This notice provides guidance for principal operations inspectors (POI) regarding the nonstandard operations specification (OpSpec)/management specification (MSpec), and letters of authorization (LOA) for Instrument Approach Procedures titled area navigation (required navigation performance) RNAV (RNP) with special aircraft and aircrew authorization required (SAAAR). Specifically, this notice clarifies the requirement to use the nonstandard OpSpec/MSpec/LOA C384 to authorize RNAV (RNP) SAAAR approaches.
