Purpose.
This manual instruction sets requirements for the management of Coast Guard boats. Reserve boats are exempt from the requirements of this manual, but are addressed in Reserve Training Manual, COMDTINST M1500.12 (series). This manual also brings together references to pertinent Coast Guard publications and reports that unit boat managers will use in performance of their duties.
