PURPOSE.
The purpose of this instruction is to announce revisions of the following forms: Application for Initial Issue, Exchange, or Replacement of Certificate of Documentation; Redocumentation, CG-1258; Builder's Certification, CG-1261; Bill of Sale, CG-1340; and Bill of Sale by Government Entity Pursuant to Court Order or Administrative Decree of Forfeiture; CG-1356.
APPLICABILITY.
Form CG-1258 is used by the public to apply for initial documentation, exchange of a Certificate of Documentation, or return of a vessel to documentation. Form CG-1261 evidences facts of build and establishes initial title to a vessel. Forms CG-1340 and CG-1356 serve as evidence of transfer of title.
